The Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) have helped to launch a new approach to volunteering in Wales after collaboration between Welsh Government, UK Research and Consultancy Services and various stakeholders. The aim of the document is to update and extend existing volunteering policy so that it aligns with the latest research and learns from best practices both in Wales and further afield.
In a statement, The Welsh Government’s Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Jane Hutt MS said:
‘I want to build an active and determined approach to giving volunteers the conditions and the support they need and deserve, so they can grow and flourish in the vital work they do for all of Wales, its people, places and communities.’
The Volunteering Cross Sectoral Leadership Group, who have been leading the work, will now develop an Implementation Plan to support the adoption of the new approach across Wales. You can learn more about the project by following this link to the WCVA website.
