‘Use your Welsh’ campaign to return at the end of the month

November 2024 | Featured

The Welsh Language Commissioner’s ‘Defnyddia dy Gymraeg’ (‘Use your Welsh’) campaign will return this year between 25 November and 2 December 2024. The aim of the campaign is to encourage institutions and workplaces to promote their Welsh language Services and to encourage individuals to use the language from day to day.

According to the Commissioner’s Office, this year there will be particular attention given to institutions in the health and care sectors, due to the importance of ensuring the availability of such Services through the medium of Welsh for care needs, but any institution can take parti n the campaign. The Commissioner Efa Gruffydd Jones is keen for everyone to use the Welsh that they have, whether they be completely fluent, haven’t spoken much Welsh since being in school or have just started learning the language.

As part of last years campaign, Efa Gruffydd Jones spoke to Hanna Hopwood about her first year as Welsh language Commissioner. You can listen to that interview here. To learn more about ‘Defnyddia dy Gymraeg’ and how you can take part, follow this link.
