The Senedd’s Economy, Trade and Rural Affairs Committee published Bringing home the harvest: Supporting the Welsh food processing industry on 20 January 2026.
The report highlights the importance of food processing to Wales’ economy and warns that gaps in policy, infrastructure and processing capacity could weaken domestic supply chains.
It calls for more joined-up food policy, stronger support for Welsh processing capacity, and better use of public procurement to back Welsh-produced food.
