Carmarthenshire County Council have announced that there is an opportunity for local traders to get free stalls at local artisanal markets, following funding by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The new scheme will see the Council holding a series of monthly street markets in Rhydaman, Caerfyrddin and Llanelli with the aim of supporting local traders and showcasing quality local food, crafts and produce.
The markets will be operated by Green Top Markets, who specialise in hosting street markets in Wales. The company will provide a large central pavilion and individual gazebos for stall holders. They will also be on hand to provide expert advice on how to present stalls and will help with the promotion of the markets on social media in collaboration with the Council.
Cllr Carys Jones, Cabinet Member for Rural Affairs, Community Cohesion and Planning Policy, said:
“This is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced traders and new entrepreneurs to gain visibility and grow their businesses in our busy town centres. By supporting these vibrant artisan markets, we’re not only boosting local trade but also helping to celebrate the unique talent and produce that Carmarthenshire has to offer.”
