Nine neighbourhoods at the heart of Welsh life have been named as the recipients of up to £20 million each in UK Government funding to restore pride in their community and to open doors to new opportunities.

• Funding of up to £20 million each will go to nine neighbourhoods across Wales to support local regeneration and improve public spaces
• The investment aims to help communities tackle issues such as anti-social behaviour, high-street decline and environmental blight
• Alongside this, every local authority in Wales will receive a share of £34.5 million to improve public spaces – fixing bus shelters, reopening park toilets, adding bins and renovating leisure centres for example
Neighbourhood Boards, made up of representatives from the local community, will now decide exactly what the investment will be spent on. These will now be established, with funding starting from April 2026.
