NFU Cymru have announced the speakers for the NFU Cymru Conference 2025. The conference will be held this year at The Metropole Hotel in Llandrindod Wells on 6 November between 9:30am and 4:00pm. The event is usually popular, with hundreds attending each year.
The conference will open with a speech from NFU Cymru President Aled Jones, followed by the Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Rural Affairs, Huw Irranca-Davies MS addressing the crowd.
The second session of the day will focus on how to go about growing the food sector in Wales with Karen Betts, CEO of the Food & Drink Federation and Sarah Bradbury, CEO of the Institute of Grocery Distribution.
The third session will provide an insight into Eurpoean perspectives and the agricultural policies of the European Union with Francie Gorman, President of the Irish Farmers’ Association.
After lunch Dr Peter Noy, Director of Food Systems Institute at the University of Nottingham will be leading a session on building a productive, sustainable and resilient food system. The final session will give attendees the opportunity to hear from Dr Jac Larner from the Wales Governance Centre at Cardiff University who will give an overview of the political climate in Wales as well as a look forward to the Senedd elections in 2026.
