NFU Cymru and NFU Mutual have announced that the Dairy Stockperson of the Year 2025 is Kathy Joules from Castell-Y-Gwcw, Llandeloy, Haverfordwest. Her success was announced at the Welsh Dairy Show in Nantyci, Carmarthenshire on 28 October.
The competition has been running for 12 years, and is a way of recognising the contributions that dairy farmers make to the industry in Wales. Kathy received £500 and a cheese board made of slate.
Kathy farms 650 acres that is home to 160 dairy cows and supplies FirstMilk in Haverfordwest. She also runs a successful beef venture and the farm grows wheat, barley and oats in order to feed the cows.
Kathy has continued to develop the business since the tragic death of her husband of motor neuron disease in March 2018. Since then she has taken full responsibility of the farm and has organised many events to raise money for charities fighting the disease.

She has a superb range of skills, and we could tell she is very passionate about wanting to take the business forward in terms of scale and efficiency.
Kathy represents the very best of dairy farming in Wales and is hardworking, committed, passionate about her industry and she has created a sustainable and efficient farming system.”
