First Minister Eluned Morgan has signed new cooperation agreements with Catalonia and the Basque Country, reinforcing Wales’s international links and commitment to working with partners beyond the UK.
The memoranda of understanding set out plans for closer collaboration on renewable energy, alongside areas such as technology, cyber security, artificial intelligence, trade and investment, and joint work on language and culture.
Drawing on her fifteen years’ experience as a Member of the European Parliament, the First Minister highlighted the value of working with regions of a similar size, noting that these relationships can drive economic growth and create lasting partnerships between governments, universities and businesses.
