A programme by Farming Connect called ‘Bwyd o’r Tir’ – Growing for the Future givers young farmers over the age of 16 years old to consider the possibility of growing fruit and vegetables through study visits across Wales. Those taking part with get the opportunity to see how to run a successful horticulture business, and what’s needed to make the most of the opportunities that growing fruit and vegetables offer by considering different kinds of crops and business models.
The programme includes visits to a broad range of horticulture businesses, including Troed y Rhiw Organics in Llwyndafydd and other locations that grow vegetables on a large scale, soft fruit enterprises and specialist crop producers. Those taking part will also receive business and financial advice by industry experts.
