Carmarthenshire County Council, who run the Pentre Awel project, have announced that they will be holding drop by sessions to engage with the local community in Llanelli and Carmarthenshire and to discuss the project’s latest developments.
Pentre Awel is a new development being led by the council that will provide space for medical research and healthcare provision with the aim of supporting and encouraging people to live active and healthy lives. The council claims that the project will create 1,800 jobs, training opportunities and apprenticeships and will represent a contribution of £467 million to the area’s economy over the next 15 years.
The sessions will be held on Wednesday 15 January at Llanelli’s Antioch Centre, with a morning session held between 9:30 and 12:30 and an afternoon session happening between 15:30 and 18:30. Officers from the council will be on hand to answer questions and share information about the development work. The leaders of the project are also keen to speak to any business representatives that have a possible interest in being a part of the project.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Leisure, Culture and Tourism, Cllr Hazel Evans commented:
“Anyone who has a vested interest in Pentre Awel should attend one of the drop-in sessions and speak to the Pentre Awel team who will be able to answer your questions. Engaging with the public is essential to the Pentre Awel project to ensure that the local community continues to be at the heart of this innovative, one-of-a-kind, development.”
