Aberystwyth University have announced a conference discussing bovine tuberculosis on 17 September. Professor Sir Charles Godfray, Chair of the 2025 Review of the Bovine Tuberculosis Eradication Strategy for England, will deliver the keynote address.
The conference is being organised by the Sêr Cymru Centre of Excellence for Bovine Tuberculosis at Aberystwyth University. The centre was established in 2018 to provide an evidence base for eradicating the disease and to increase the academic expertise on the subject in Wales.
The theme of this years conference is vaccination. The aim of the event is to bring scientists, policy makers and stakeholders together to discuss the latest development in the field and to present research regarding the cattle and badger vaccination trials now underway in the UK.
Among the other speakers in the conference are Professor Helen McShane FRCP PhD FMedSci (University of Oxford), Dr Andy Robertson (DEFRA), and Maria Dominguez MRCVS and Ivelina Miteva DVM MSc (Animal and Plant Health Agency).
